Agnes Eloise Marshall Belknap, 78, was called home by her Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.  Agnes died of complications from Alzheimer's Disease while under the care of Heart of Hospice in her home with her family in Pearl River, Louisiana.

Agnes was born November 1, 1945, in Macon, Georgia, to Dr. Andrew Smoak Marshall and Beulah Smith Marshall.

As a graduate of the University of Georgia (BS Ed) and the University of New Orleans (MAET), she taught 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 8th grade Honors English, and was a supervisor for Educational Inroads, Sylvan, and Catapult Learning; as well as an Adjunct Faculty Member of Delgado Community College.

Agnes was a member of Alpha XI Delta and served her sorority as an advisor.   She was a former member of First English Lutheran Church; Zion Lutheran Church in Bogalusa; and Zion Lutheran Church in New Orleans, and a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Picayune, Mississippi.

She was a past member of Niobeans, Iris, Excaliber, and the Director of the Lionettes Dancing Team of Ursuline Academy.  Agnes was also a member of the Auxiliary of VFW Post 5735 and the Jans F Hursey Chapter of the Marine Corps League. She was an avid water skier who loved water sports and her children and grandchildren.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Andrew Smoak Marshall and Beulah Smith Marshall.

Agnes was the loving wife of Reverend Robert "Bob" H. Belknap J.D., Colonel, USMC (Retired); mother of Robert "Rob" H. Belknap, II, Lieutenant Colonel USMC (Retired) (wife Paula) of Hideaway Lake Mississippi, and Rebecca Agnes Belknap of Kenner, Louisiana. She is survived by her grandchildren,  Joshua Belknap, Sarah Belknap, Aislynn Adams, Robert H. Belknap, III, Haley Adams; sisters, Nancy O. Marshall Struth of Jackson, Mississippi, Ann Marshall Bordes (Buddy) of River Ridge, Louisiana, and Susan Marshall Isner of Indiatlantic, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA 70460, on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Visitation will begin at 11:00am followed by the funeral service, conducted by Reverend Bradley Auman, at 1:00pm.

Burial will be in Southeast Lousiana Veterans Cemetery on Monday, July 22, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Institution in memory of Agnes Belknap.
