Albert J. Cavalier Sr., 88, of Lacombe, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in Covington, Louisiana.

Albert was born July 20, 1935, in Paincourtville, Louisiana, to Francois Pierre and Euranie Rodrigue Cavalier. To serve his country, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1953.  In 1956, he met and fell in love with Anna Lou Marie Guidry.  They were married soon after in Golden Meadow, Louisiana.  With a dream of living in a more country setting, the family moved to Lacombe, Louisiana in 1971.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lou Guidry Cavalier; brothers, Herbert Cavalier, Dave Cavalier, Ulysse Cavallier, Frank Cavallier, Sterling Cavalier, Ivy Cavalier; sisters, Una Breaux, Irene Aucoin, Isabelle Lunk, and Alice Garcia; son-in-law, Daniel Guerra Sr.

He is survived by his brother Alvin Cavalier, and five children, Albert J. Cavalier Jr. (Diane), Ricky P. Cavalier (Angel), Phyllis C. Shubert (Mark), Tammy C. Guerra, Joanie C. King (Ronald "Scooter"); thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is also survived by his loving companion Betty McNeely.

Albert was a sweet and loving friend and father who loved nothing more than to gather with his family.  Everyone who knew him, loved him.  He loved to sing and did so at family gatherings or when just sitting around with his friends.

Albert's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Trinity Trace Care Center and Notre Dame Hospice for their care and compassion.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell, Louisiana on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.

Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
