Allen Paul Landry Sr., 89, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
Allen was born January 27, 1934, in Paincourtville, Louisiana, to the late Hughes Joseph Landry and Noile Landry. Allen was U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of First Baptist Church of Slidell. He was an avid bowler at Pine Tree Lanes in Picayune and a member of the former Krewe of Dela-Bute Dominique which paraded for many years with the Krewe of Slidellians. Allen also enjoyed playing golf and was a long-time member of Millbrook Golf & Country Club also in Picayune. His true passion was country and western dancing, and he was a member of the "Pearl River Line Dancers," a group that performs at nursing homes in the Slidell area.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille "Lou" Strickland Landry; children, Deborah Largent (Bob), Pamela Landry, Allen Landry Jr. (Debbie), Sally Pullens (Danny), Hughes "Joey" Landry (Amanda); stepchildren, Tammy Watts, Susan Schwaner (Scott), Tiny Watts (Barbara), and Tony Scharenbroch (Kristy). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Allen was preceded in death by his first wife, Aline Landry; his parents; and three grandsons, Morgan Landry, Jaydon Lumpkin, and Reese Landry.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell, Louisiana, 70460.
Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.
Burial will follow at Benville Baptist Church Cemetery on Lott McCarty Rd in Picayune, Mississippi.
