Alton Attaway, of Lacombe, LA, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, holding the hand of his beloved Karen.

Alton was born February 4, 1935, in New Orleans to Viola Rose Perpere and Andrew Carey Attaway, Sr. Alton was preceded in death by his siblings, the late Viola St Pierre, Josephine Alberti, Lillian LeBlanc, Elsie Kaiser, Claire Barrios, Anna Mae Young, Juliette Marino and Andrew C Attaway, Jr. He is survived by his lifelong loving partner, Karen M Henry and many nieces and nephews.

He will always be remembered for his kindness and his willingness to lend a hand to family, friend or stranger, but mostly his love of family. He worked many years for Corrugated Industries before having his own company, Alton Attaway, Awnings, Carports and Siding.

Alton was a man with many talents. He loved working on cars especially his Corvette.  He built his beautiful house in Lacombe and spent many hours there with Karen, tending his vegetables and fruit trees and making muscadine wine.

Alton was a Freemason of the Perseverance Lodge #4 in New Orleans as well as a member of the Shriners.

A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Visitation is from 12 – 2:00 P.M. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd., Slidell, La 70460, with a Masonic Funeral Service at 2:00 P.M.
