Alvin Carter, age 93, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at his residence. Beloved husband of Deborah Lawrence Carter. Father of Julie Carter, Candice Carter-Gilder (Antoine), the late Alvin Hardy, Vernita Treadwell (Kenneth) and Chanda Carter. Son of the late Henry Carter and Overa Jones Carter. Brother of Johnnie Lee Carter, the late Rushie Lee Carter, Bennie B. Carter and Andrew Lee Carter. Also survived by his grandchildren, Alvin, Kisha, Carmaletia, Isaac, Antjuan, Katrina, Jamar, Chanda, Antoine Jr., his special nephew, Corey, a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his canine companion "Louie".

A native of Minden, La.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in Artillery.  He retired from General Motors Truck & Bus after 42 and ½ years, where he worked as an Electrician. He was a member of the United Autoworkers Union, Local 594. In his retirement years he worked for SAMS Club here in Slidell.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST, Slidell, LA., on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 6:00 P.M.

Visitation on Wednesday after 4:00 P.M. until funeral time.

Interment with military honors at the Southeast La. Veterans Cemetery will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
