Ann Inez Fife Cognevich, 73, of Slidell, Louisiana, went to be with her Heavenly Father peacefully and without pain with her husband by her side on the morning of Sunday, August 28, 2022, in Slidell. Beloved wife of Joseph C. Cognevich. Cherished mother of three daughters Natalie A. Cognevich-Heffley, Kasey C. Perry, and Amanda Cognevich.
Ann was born on October 30, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee. Ann was the second daughter, and the fourth of seven children born to Miskel and Isaac M. Fife, Jr. Ann was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated from John McDonogh Senior High School in 1968. Ann resided in Slidell for the last 30 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Slidell.
Ann loved life. She loved going and doing. She loved music and dancing. She loved coffee, food and cooking. She loved God. She loved her parents, her children and grandchildren. She loved her siblings, friends, nieces and nephews. But most of all, she loved JC, the love of her life.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac M. Fife Jr. and Miskel Gillia Fife; a grandson, Brian Joseph Cognevich; sisters, Frances L. Fife, and Charlotte L. Fife.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Joseph C. Cognevich; children, Natalie A. Cognevich-Heffley (Bill), Kasey C. Perry (Donavan), Amanda L. Cognevich (Mark), Keith A. Cognevich (Denise), Kevin B. Cognevich, Suzy Cognevich; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Isaac M. Fife III, Dowen W. Fife, Sr., Andrew E. Fife, Sr.; one sister, Madalyn F. Cochran; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Special thanks to the staff at Azalea Estates of Slidell for their caretaking of Ann since November 2021.
Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell, Louisiana on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Visitation will begin at 9:30am followed by funeral services at 11:00am.
Burial will be at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell.
