Ann J.
Hussey
Mar 13, 1943 — Dec 21, 2025
Slidell
Ann J. Hussey, beloved mother, affectionately known as "maga" by her grandchildren and that Firecracker Ann by friends, passed away at home on December 21, 2025, after some challenging years with Alzheimer's/dementia. She was 82 years old.
She was born on March 13,1943, in St. Louis Missouri. After graduating from Archdiocese of Saint Louis De Andreis Parish High School, Ann went straight to work for Bellsouth as a switchboard operator. Then on to earn her wings as an airline stewardess for Ozark Air Lines, a Real-estate Agent with Century 21, and Management Program Technician for the U.S. Customs Service.
Ann loved to socialize, meeting many good friends over time spent traveling and at her favorite restaurant/bars at home. She would connect with people, as they to her, at every place and they became like family. She had a love of Circus clowns, often associated with the Divine Fool, an archetype that teaches important life lessons through humor and silliness. They remind us of the importance of laughter and play in life, and that she did.
Her warmth, kindness, and enjoyment of time spent with others left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Ann is survived by children, Joseph III (Karen), Nancy (David), Michael (Pam), Steve (Victoria); grandchildren, Myranda, Kasey (Cole), Joelle, Blake (Caroline), Austin, Grant, Rebeka, Mike, Phoenix and great grandchildren Tatum, Karter, Camden, Kaine, Halleigh, Tritt, and Lainey Jo who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Amada Companion Care and Eagan Hospice who provided care, support, and compassion for her illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West in Slidell Louisiana. Visitation from 9:30 A.M. till 11:00 A.M. followed by the Memorial Service. Carnations were her favorite flower.
