Arthur Gene Alphonse, of Slidell, LA, passed away on April 10, 2026, at Slidell Memorial Hospital. Beloved husband, of 52 years, to Carolyn Taylor Alphonse. Father to three sons, Donald "Ricky" Alphonse (Tammy), Ronald "Ronnie" Alphonse (Jennifer), and Randal "Randy" Alphonse (Mia). Paw Paw to Lindsey Roussel (Ashley), Richard "Tricky" Alphonse (Alex) and Taylor Alphonse. Grand Paw Paw to Richard "Lil Man" Alphonse. The son of the late Louis and Gladys Alphonse. He is survived by four sisters and one brother.
Arthur Gene Alphonse honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, including service during the Vietnam War. Following his military career, he dedicated many years of hard work and leadership to Shell Oil Corporation, where he retired as a Superintendent of Construction. Arthur was a proud and faithful member of his church, living his life guided by strong values and devotion. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his beloved family, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. Arthur will be remembered for his dedication, integrity, and the deep love he shared with those around him.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church , 910 Cross Gates Blvd, Slidell, LA 70461 on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 12:00 P.M.
Visitation on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. until funeral time.
Interment to follow at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.
The family would like to invite everyone to a Celebration of Life at The Alphonse's home located at 501 Dockside Drive Slidell, LA 70461 following the services.
