Barbara "Bonnie" Sweney Argeanton, of Slidell, LA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the age of 76.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wilfred "Will" J. Argeanton Jr., father, James P. Sweney, and mother, Martha J. Sweney.  Mother of Melissa (Dennis) Lott, Wilfred J. (Kellie) Argeanton III, and James P. Argeanton.  Grandmother of Benjamin, Matthew, and Zachary Argeanton, Alex Warren, Zachary (Joe) Kindle, Sarah Till; Grandmother-of-the-heart of Samantha Gambino, Dylan, Erica, and Nicole Willsey; Fur-Grandmaw to Tucker, Baxter, Louise, and Teddy.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Gwen Mancuso, René (Don) Zimmer, Jeanne (Wayne) Bertrand, and many loving nieces and nephews.

A native of Derry, Pennsylvania, and a resident of Slidell for the last 43 years, she was a stay-at-home mom, active in her children's schools, until she went to work as a secretary.  She was also a parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Bonnie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  More important than anything was her love for her family.  It brought her great joy to have all of them together and to watch her grandchildren grow and spend time with them.  Her other greatest loves were LSU football, the New Orleans Saints, the Chicago Cubs, and reading.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Catholic Funeral Mass at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA, on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 2:00 P.M.

Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

Visitation on Wednesday after 12:00 P.M. until funeral time.
