Bertram Pichon, lovingly known as "Bert" or "Paw Paw," of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, at the age of 90 with the love and support of family and friends.

He shared 65 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Frances Glass Pichon. Together, they created a life full of memories that will be treasured forever.

He is survived by many family members, who will carry his lessons, values, and love forward every day.

Son of the late Agnes Rist Pichon and Leo Pichon. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers: Kyle and Irvin Pichon.

Father of Judy Pichon (James Pichon), Donna Allen (John Allen), Jim Pichon (Pam Pichon), and Vicky Moore (Robert Moore). Also, Ricky Berrigan (Lori Berrigan), a cherished part of the family and loved as a son.

Survived by his 8 grandchildren: Brian Pichon (Jacqulyn Novitsky), Chris Pichon (Janelle Pichon), Lindsey Martin (Lisa Martin), Kristen Keller (Justin Keller), Lauren Carlton (Michael Carlton), Brad O'Brien (Stacy O'Brien), Jonathan Allen (Kayla Allen), and Ashley McGill (Blake McGill).

Also survived by his 16 great grandchildren Aubrey, Easton, JoJo, Cooper, Olivia, Lucy, Brian Jr., Bowen, Briggs, Summer'Rae, Kaymron, Hailey, Victoria, Adam, Alyssa, and Landon. He was blessed to have several great-great-grandchildren as well.

To his family, Bert was a steady presence, a source of comfort, and someone whose love was felt more through actions than words. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the songs that remind us of him, and the quiet moments that now feel sacred.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for 90 years filled with memories we will treasure forever.

He found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved music, especially Willie Nelson, whose songs often filled the room and now carry even more meaning for those who loved him. He also enjoyed fishing, where he found peace, patience, and time to simply be still.

As part of the Masonic community, he was a proud and active member of Pearl Lodge #456 for 56 years and held many leadership roles, including Master and long-time Treasurer. In addition, he was a member of Slidell Lodge, and Graham-Washington Lodge. Most recently he honorably served as Master for Graham-Washington during the 2025 year.

He worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Chalmette, the shipyard in Slidell, and Folgers Coffee Plant in New Orleans, with many other side jobs and hustles along the way.

He was active US Army 1958-1960 and reserve 1960-1964. Stationed in Fort Chaffee, Fort Sill, Camp Kaiser in Korea, and Fort Brag with the 3rd Battalion, 16th Field Artillery Regiment.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West (in Forest Law Cemetery), Slidell, LA on Wednesday January 21st, 2026, at 12:00 PM.

Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday after 10:00 A.M. A Masonic service will begin at 11:45 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 P.M.

Interment with military honors will follow at the Southeast Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Road, Slidell, LA. 70460.
