Bethany Elaine Acosta Dvornak, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the age of 61.

Bethany was born on December 27, 1963, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Herbert and Elaine Acosta. She spent her life in southeast Louisiana, where her creativity, personality, and devotion to family defined who she was.

She is survived by her beloved son, Michael S. Dvornak of Slidell, Louisiana; her sister, Ginger Cavalier of Slidell, Louisiana; and her brother, Darin Acosta of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Bethany loved cooking local Southern cuisine and sharing meals that brought people together. She also had a deep appreciation for music and unique art and was an avid gardener. A gifted singer, she performed with several bands throughout her lifetime, sharing her voice and passion with many. Her love for creativity and beauty was reflected in everything she did.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Elaine Acosta, and her son, Malachi H. Dvornak.

A memorial service celebrating Bethany's life will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Boulevard West, Slidell, LA 70460, on January 8, 2026, at 12:00 noon to 2 p.m., with interment to follow.

She will be remembered with love by all who knew her.
