Betty Bray Giglio, age 81, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Canon Hospice in Covington, LA. She was born July 24, 1942, in Tyler, Texas, but settled in New Orleans after spending her childhood moving around quite a bit due to her father's work for Shell Oil Company. Betty spent time working in several different roles before eventually retiring: she was a teacher's assistant at Lake Forest Academy, and she was also a health insurance claims analyst for a few major insurance companies.

Betty was married to the love of her life, Frank Joseph Giglio, in 1960. Frank and Betty had been married for 46 years when he passed away in 2006. They were high school sweethearts who graduated from John McDonough High School in New Orleans, LA. Frank would famously bestow nicknames to the people he loved, and he gave Betty the nickname, "Puddin." That affectionate nickname would stick with her for the rest of her life.

Betty is survived by her three children, Frank "Joey" Joseph Giglio II and his wife Barbara Giglio, Michelle "Shelley" Giglio Colombo, and her husband Rocky Colombo, and Aimee Lorraine Giglio. She's also survived by six amazing grandchildren: Jordan Aubrey Giglio, Justin Tyler Giglio, Gabrielle Cuccia Alter, Haleigh Nicole Giglio, Madeline Kate Colombo, and Danielle Alexandra Bridges; along with two great-grandchildren, Lily Kay Giglio and Gusto Joseph Giglio. She is also survived by her sister Patricia Bray McEvoy.

She was preceded in death by her parents George Doris Bray and Agnes Champagne Bray, and by her beloved husband Frank.

Betty was, above all else, a devout follower of Jesus Christ. She was led in all things by her faith, and would often give Bibles to her loved ones, or anyone she felt could benefit from one. She loved LSU sports and enjoyed attending games with her family and friends. She also enjoyed country dancing with Frank and took dance lessons with him. Betty would also show off her culinary skills by cooking a delicious meal or baking scrumptious desserts for special occasions. She liked to play cards--Bridge, Rummy, Bouree', Pounce, Solitaire, and many others.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home on Friday, November 10, 2023. Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be sent to Canon Hospice/Akula Foundation where she spent the last 3 weeks of her life. Everyone at Canon loved and cared for her as if she were their mother. We could not have asked for a better place for her to be during this difficult transition. We are very thankful to the entire Canon staff; they were a phenomenal team. They cared for our mother with love, respect, and dignity.
