Brenda Reine-Bertus, 73, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, in Covington.

Brenda was born March 2, 1951, to Merrill and Edith Wendel.

A resident of Slidell, Brenda was the Executive Director of the Slidell Chamber of Commerce, and CEO of the St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation for over fifteen years, from which she retired.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen W. Reine; mother, Edith Wendel; and father, Merrill Wendel.

She is survived by her husband, Donald C. Bertus; children, Kimberly Reine, Elizabeth Reine (Chris), Kirk Bertus (Brooke), Scott Bertus; grandchildren, Katie Horsley, William Horsley, Sadie Reine, Sophie Bilbo, Sarah Bertus, Seth Bertus, Sam Bertus (Maria); brother, Stephen Wendel; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA 70460, on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 2:00pm.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.
