Carl G. Cappel Sr., 76, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, in Slidell.

Carl was born December 31, 1946, in Metarie, Louisiana, to Roy and Jewel Cappel.

In 1965 he married Ann Abney and moved to Slidell. He was employed by Waldemar S. Nelson and Company Inc Architects and Engineers for over thirty years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Abney Cappel; his parents, Roy and Jewel Cappel; and a grandson, Fred Byron Richardson IV.

He is survived by three children, Carl Glenn Cappel Jr. (Lisa), Julie Ann Cappel, Katie Cappel Maxsoe (Ronnie); two brothers, David Cappel and Lance Cappel; six grandchildren, Lauren Cappel, Barret Swan, Annabel Richardson, Brenna Swan, Hans Maxsoe, Jillian Maxsoe; one greatgrandson, Kyler Legaspi; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell, Louisiana, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.
