We are sad to announce the passing of Carl Edward Quinn, Jr. of Slidell, Louisiana, who died at the age of 75 on a Sunday Afternoon, October 2, 2022, while surrounded by loved ones.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Edward Quinn, Sr. and Josephine Quinn, and is survived by his three sisters, Carolyn (Richard) Starkey, Elaine (Ed) Samson, and Kathie (Quinn) Miller; one brother, Phillip (Michelle) Quinn; three children, Larissa (Fred) Brophy, Lyndsay Quinn-Brumfield, Carl Brandt Quinn and a recently discovered child, Rob (Zorina) Spedding; seven grandchildren: Alan, Gabrielle and Kaleigh Brophy; Amelia and Lincoln Brumfield; Carlyann and Connor Spedding; four great grandchildren; multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and many other loved ones.

Carl was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 16, 1947. He graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1965. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, was deployed to Vietnam, and earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star while serving his country. He received a Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering from The Ohio State University (1970) and Master's degree in Aeronautical Systems from University of West Florida (1975). After overcoming his injuries from Vietnam, he was then commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps (1974) and served as a Marine Corps Aviator. Carl flew the Huey helicopter and became an instructor where he earned the call signs "Quickie" or "Quickness". He served in the Marines for 25 years (Semper Fi!) and ultimately retired in New Orleans, Louisiana with the rank of Major in 1991. Carl will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery during Spring 2023.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Luke Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Crossgates Blvd, Slidell LA 70461, on Tuesday, October 25 ^th , 2022 at 11:00 am with viewing hours beginning at 10:00am. After mass, a celebration of life will be held at Carl's favorite hangout: Heidleburg's Bar, 147 Cousin St., Slidell
