It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our beautiful, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Carol Burling Vicknair, who went home to the Lord on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the age of 84. She was born on June 29, 1940, to the late Eva and Carl Burling. In addition to her parents, Carol is also preceded in death by the love of her life, Lionel Vicknair, Jr., who she married on July 11, 1959. Together, they built a beautiful family.

Carol is survived by her children, Lynel (Tony) and Lonnie. She was grandma, "Mia" to Dylan, Jared, Kaitlyn, Lionel IV, Brandon, Meagan and 5 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Diana Burling Aucoin, who shares in the sorrow and cherished memories. Carol was known for the deep love of her family and Catholic faith.

Raising a family in Harahan was some of her fondest memories. She is a former parishioner of St. Rita Catholic Church and St. Rita's Mother's Club. Moving to the Northshore, she became a parishioner of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, in Lacombe, Louisiana. She will be greatly missed, but we can rejoice that she is home again with her heavenly family.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 61030 Brier Lake Drive, Lacombe, LA. 70445 on Friday, August 16, 2024.

Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., rosary at 10:30 A.M., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M.

Interment will follow in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.
