Cecil Howard McCrea Jr., of Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Howard devoted his life to his community. He was a "Jack of All Trades" type having worked at Avondale Shipyard, as a school bus driver, a Taxidermist, and owner of Little Touch of Nature Animal Rehabilitation. However, his true passion was working as the Nuisance Animal Officer (Primarily Alligators) for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office from 1996-2018 retiring at the rank of Lieutenant.

He was preceded in death by his wife & high school sweetheart Wanda Addison McCrea as well as his parents Cecil Howard McCrea Sr. and Margaret Haisten McCrea.

Howard always held his family near and dear to his heart. He is survived by three children, Malcolm McCrea (Lesa), Michael McCrea (Roberta), and April McCrea (Kippy Latusa); five grandchildren, Mary Jane Ledoux (Mike), Jensen Salles (Jordan), Jesse McCrea (Carlee), Erin Adam (Austin), and Clayton McQueen. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, Hunter, Hadley, and Emery.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
