Charles Joseph Story, age 73, of Slidell, Louisiana, left us on July 20, 2023, for his next great adventure. As his high school yearbook quote states, he was "Happy-go-lucky as a breeze in spring".

Charlie will be lovingly remembered and survived by his wife and partner of 54 years through thick and thin, Terri Leathem Story, his daughters and his two buddies, Rebecca "Becky" Story-Ferguson (David) and Katherine "Katy" Aime (Gus), brother and best friend David E. Story, sister Annette P. Salone (Paul), granddaughter, and #1 "little poot", Marina E. Aime and his step-grandchildren, whom he called his own, Ashton Aime and Destin Aime (Meghan), 2 great grandchildren, Dawson & Addie Mae and his furbaby, Mags. He will continue to have stories told about him and laughter to be heard in heaven by his in-laws, outlaws, the whole Story and Fowler clan and the many friends he gathered over the years.

He is preceded in death by his father Ollieve Ernest Story, July 20, 2003, and mother, Mary Ella Fowler, June 25, 2000.

Once you met Charlie, you never forgot him. His laughter was contagious, his smile constant. No matter the time of day, he would talk with you for hours. His favorite subjects were boating, fishing, hurricane chasing & "Whatcha doing?". He never met a stranger. He was a coach, a mentor, a role model to his girls, a BIG dreamer, a businessman and entrepreneur. He was the family and friend hotline, keeping everyone connected. His love for people and entrepreneurship kept him racing with new ideas for both himself and others. From worm farms to racetracks to flipping boats, some of these ideas worked out, some didn't, but above all, they built lasting memories, created new friendships, and contributed to great "Story" stories.

He was a creative thinker and free spirit. He kept family and friends entertained with his curiosity of life and storytelling. He gave selflessly when most would've felt there was nothing to give. He always chose roads less traveled and forged new paths with family and friends looking forward to his next adventure. We watched in amazement as he managed to pull off the impossible!

We are blessed to have known and loved our amazing Nubby Charles. There will never be another like him. He has left a legacy behind for everyone who ever knew him, and a legend's spirit lives on forever. Family Strong.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and donations, TAKE TIME and GO FISHING!
