Obituary

Charmaine Ann Lemaire, 68, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025, surrounded by love.

A lifelong resident of Slidell, Charmaine was born on March 2, 1957, in Fairfax County, Virginia, to Stafford "Frenchy" and Anneliese Lemaire. From the beginning, she carried a gentle spirit, a warm smile, and a gift for making others feel seen and cared for.

Charmaine is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jim Knauff; her three children, Tray Nobles (Becca Lynn), Cheri Beard, and Laura Knauff; her sister, Madeline Palliser; her eleven cherished grandchildren—Gavin Nobles, Kohen Nobles, Ella Cancienne, Micah Nobles, Lauren Sharp, Emma Beard, Brodie Beard, Cooper Beard, Kristen Knauff, Justin Nichols, Austin Knauff; and her four precious great-grandchildren—Alaiyna Sharp, Autumn Sharp, Jameson Merwin, and Leah Nichols; along with many other beloved relatives and friends.

For 31 years, Charmaine dedicated her professional life to Lockheed at the NASA Michoud facility, where she worked as a skilled and respected Data Analyst. Beyond her career, she poured her heart into community service through the American Legion Auxiliary Slidell Unit 185, where she proudly served as Past President.

Charmaine's life was rooted in kindness. She was loving, generous, and endlessly compassionate. She adored her family, delighted in long conversations, and found peace in her garden—her favorite place to "play in the dirt." Her warmth and joyful spirit created a circle of friendship that touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
