Clifton "Cliff" Cox, 82, of Slidell, Louisiana, and a former resident of River Ridge, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Cliff was born December 21, 1942, in LeCompte, Louisiana, to Estus and Blanche Cox. He later moved to Clinton, Louisiana and then to Roseland, Louisiana, where he attended Amite High and was recognized as the wittiest boy in his senior class. In 1966, he married JoAnn Zundel in New Orleans. After raising their four children in River Ridge, Cliff and JoAnn moved to Slidell in 1993.
Cliff, affectionately known as "PawPaw", was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved boating, cruising, playing cards, live music, "passing a good time", and any activity that involved family and friends. Cliff derived energy from being with others and never met a stranger. He will forever be remembered by his grandchildren for his rendition of "Pants on the Ground" during a family cruise.
Cliff served in the United States Airforce and was employed for over 30 years with Delta Air Lines where he worked as an aircraft mechanic and analyst. Following retirement from Delta, he worked for the City of Slidell as a construction inspector.
Cliff loved to travel, and traveled the world by plane, cruise ship, RV, and automobile. He lived large and was always ready for travel, a party, and a good time.
Cliff was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, JoAnn, his parents Estus Cox and Blanche (Forlouis) Cox, his brothers Milton and Nelson Cox, niece June Cox, and nephew Glenn Cox.
Cliff is survived by his four children, Karen Holden (Derrik), Kathy Nicolosi, Patti Broussard, Craig Cox; eight grandchildren, Patrick Holden, Benjamin Holden, Kenneth "Trey" Nicolosi, Tyler Nicolosi, Kirsten Nicolosi Rivers, Braden "Perry" Broussard, Brennan Broussard, Peyton Broussard; six great-grandchildren, Lucas and Avery Broussard, Daphne and Elise Holden, Krew Rivers, Stella Holden; and numerous loving relatives.
Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA 70460 on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 am followed by an 11 am service with military honors. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, adjacent to Honaker Funeral Home.
