Dr. Clifton L. Doucet Jr., "Doc" to those that knew him, passed away on May 4, 2022 at the age of 95 years. Son of Clifton L. Doucet Sr. and Mary Angeline Swiber Doucet. He was born April 8, 1927 in New Orleans, La.

He attended Alcee Fortier High School and soon after graduation he met his future wife, Audrey Lyons. Prior to college he joined the US Navy during WWII.  He was a seaman 2 ^nd Class, working the radar station aboard the USS Philippine Sea. Returning home in 1946 he married the love of his life, Audrey on Flag Day.  That same year they left for Memphis to attend the Southern College of Optometry.  After graduation he practiced in New Orleans, Shreveport and Lake Charles, returning to New Orleans then in 1966, settling in Slidell, he developed his own practice working with Audrey in their medical office building.  They moved into their final home together in a newly constructed house in Country Club Estates.  They lived a wonderful life together.

As charter members of the Pinewood Country club they embraced life in Slidell.  Doc was involved in Rotary serving as President from 1968 to 1969.  Doc supported Audrey who was an active member of the Slidell Women's Civic Club.  His primary role performing with other husbands in the Civic Club Mardi Gras tableaus.  If you were lucky enough to attend you might remember his roles as Rapunzel 's lover and his stunning impersonation of a Playboy Bunny. Doc was happily married to Audrey for 66 years when she passed.

Among his favorite hobbies were Dancing with Audrey, fishing, golfing (he once hit a hole in one), bowling and he was an avid reader in the book of the month club.  Doc and his father Clifton Sr. were instrumental in developing the Slidell Bowling Association.

As an avid New Orleans Saints fan he never spoke of 2018.  He will long be remembered for his sense of humor, loyalty, fairness and love of animals.  His family always included a dog.

Preceded in death by parents, his wife Audrey, Daughter Pam Ciko, sister Sylvia Stanton and her husband Bob, friend and brother-in-law Lloyd Tilly, sister in law, Virgie Mayer and husband Frank, brother in law Rainey Lyons and his wife Catherine, grandsons, Christopher Breeding and Frederick Breeding Jr.

He is survived by son Clifton L Doucet III and his wife Lisa Otke of St Louis MO, son in law Wayne Ciko, sister-in-law Carole Tilly, his beloved pet Snoopy and his friends and irreplaceable caregivers, Donna Batiste and Dorothy Hullet and many nieces and nephews.

Interment to follow in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

Visitation on Thursday after 11:00 A.M. until funeral time.
