It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Collin Brian Gallegos, age 30, on January 16th in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Collin was born on March 20, 1995, in Dallas, Texas and was the son of William J. Gallegos and Sheri E. Sandlin.
Collin graduated from Hebron High School in Carrollton, Texas. He attended Louisiana State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance. He was a member of the Beta Zeta chapter of Delta Sigma Pi professional business fraternity. In 2019, he began his career with VALIC working with his dad as a financial advisor.
Collin was an old soul who was wise beyond his years. Collin was known for his wit, intelligence and kindness. He brought immense joy to the lives he touched and was especially close to his brother and best friend, Barrett. Collin bravely and confidently approached his life and cultivated a daily atmosphere marked by joy, competence and charisma.
Collin is survived by his grandfather, Leo L. Ehrhardt Jr., father, William Joseph Gallegos (Marie Di Nome), mother, Sheri Ehrhardt Sandlin (stepfather Clifton), brother, Barrett Joseph Gallegos (Eden), and stepsiblings, Andrew and Carlie Sandlin. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
Visitation and a funeral mass for Collin will be held on Friday, February 6th at St. Aloysius Church, 2025 Stuart Ave, Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:30 A.M., followed by mass at 12:00 P.M.
