Obituary

Constance "Connee" Estelle Lehrmann Molay – beloved mother, dedicated grandmother, and friend of many - passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in Slidell, Louisiana. Connee was 75 years old.

Constance was born in the city of New Orleans on Tuesday, March 11, 1947, the third child of Matthew and Mary Lehrmann. Connee graduated from Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic High School in 1966. Connee enjoyed a career for many years as an EMT before earning her degree as an LPN at the age of 49. She was a great nurse, and she loved her job. She was a night owl and loved the night shifts. She made many lifelong friends with her fellow night nurses. As much as she loved being a nurse, "Grandee" was the job she had really been waiting for. She was in her own style an excellent grandmother. She would drop everything to keep her grandkids for a weekend and give them whatever they wanted. They would be staying up all night, drinking soda, and probably watching South Park. Her grandkids adored her, and they have some great stories to tell about their times with her. Connee's dad bought her a brand new '66 Chevy Corvair as a graduation present and driving was her favorite pastime. Connee loved to be behind the wheel of a car. She was constantly on the go, always heading off somewhere. She even had a brief stint as an Uber driver after she retired. In the end, when her restless spirit could not get on the road anymore, she knew it was time to go. If heaven is your best day, Connee is in her '66 Chevy, windows down, cigarette lit with a sweet tea in reach, on her way somewhere!

Connee was preceded in death by her father, Matthew E. Lehrmann Sr; her mother, Mary Childress Lehrmann; and her nephew, Bret Gleason.

She is survived by her sons, Phil Molay (Carrie) in Cypress TX, and Troy Molay (Meghann) in Slidell, LA; her grandchildren, Logan, Vaughn, Mason, Tallula, Cecilia, and Finn; her brother, Matthew Lehrmann Jr.; her sister, Ann Marie Lehrmann Oulliber; and numerous nieces and nephews.
