Darilyn Ann
Cuyler
Mar 21, 1951 — Nov 26, 2023
Slidell
Darilyn Ann Cuyler, passed away at her residence, with her husband by her side during the evening of November 26, 2023, at the age of 72. She peacefully released after a difficult battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
For the duration of her illness, she was loved and supported by her close friends, family, and the numerous caregivers that stood by her side. During this experience we have been very touched by the generosity of everyone who has lent a helping hand. For that we will be forever grateful.
She was the first born to the late Joseph and Dorothy Riehlmann in Lakeview where she would spend her formative years. Darilyn would go on to attend LSU where she met her loving and devoted husband Brian. They lived a wonderful life together, sharing over 50 years of marriage. They spent many years traveling and enjoying each other before settling down to start a family in Slidell.
Darilyn was an avid reader staying up late most nights working on reading her latest novel. She believed in exercising daily but loved to cap off the day with a nice glass of wine and a bite of chocolate.
Darilyn attended Sunday morning masses at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church followed by afternoons in City Park and family dinners. She loved fashion and interior design spending her later years managing a friend's boutique shop. She spent most Saturdays watching her beloved LSU Tigers, a passion that she passed along to her children. Most of all Darilyn was happiest spending time with family and the countless friends she made along her way in life.
She is survived by her husband Brian, daughter Lauren, son Kevin (Erin), grandsons George and Arthur, siblings Joe (Mary), Liz (Eric), Mike (Ana), Rock (Janet).
Darilyn was that warm voice on the other end of the phone you wanted to hear after a tough day. She had an ability to make everyone she met feel warm and better about themselves. An amazing wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, friend and so much more. She will be missed dearly by all those that were lucky enough to have known her.
Services will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in New Orleans, LA on Thursday, December 7th, 2023. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM with a mass to follow at noon. Reception details will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the International Shrine of St. Jude.
