Debra Marie Vandenborre, aged 70, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026 surrounded by her family at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, Louisiana.

Born on January 12, 1956 in Evanston, Illinois, Debby lived a full life and was loved and respected by all who knew her. She owned and directed Bright Beginners Learning Center, a preschool in Slidell, Louisiana, for 30 years, touching the lives of hundreds of children and families. She also operated photography, tutoring, dog grooming, and farm camp businesses in Slidell and Folsom, Louisiana for many years. Debby loved teaching children and sought to give everything she possibly could to serve families for the Lord. She had a passion for plants and animals, maintaining beautiful gardens and caring for many beloved pets throughout the years. She was extremely creative, spending much time drawing, painting, crafting and decorating.

Debby cherished her role as mother, grandmother, daughter and sister , loving her family immensely and desiring most of all that each person come to know the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her loving mother, Marilynne Arrigo Vandenborre, and her daughter, Antoinette Marie (Turner) Wolfe (and her husband Kevin Jay Wolfe).

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Natalie Joy Jimenez Wolfe (and her husband Oscar Caulderon Jimenez), Sophia Faith Wolfe, Samuel Elijah Wolfe, and Gabriel Isaiah Dudley Wolfe, as well as Christopher Scott Blevins, Andersen Lee-Scott Blevins and Ruby Lynn Witko, who are the children of her late daughter, Renee.

Debra leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Adalyn Jane Blevins, Everly Simone Lawshe, Violet Marie Schimke, and Phoebe Renee Blevins.

She is further survived by her brother, Dudley Anthony Vandenborre, Jr. (and his wife Kim Doyle Vandenborre), along with her nieces and nephew: Jennifer Vandenborre Gusman (and her husband Gary C. Gusman), Jesse Anthony Vandenborre (and his wife Dawnelle Dycus Vandenborre), and Jamie Marie O'Brien (and her husband Thomas Michael O'Brien); and her great-nephews and great-nieces: Gary C. Gusman, III, Anthony G. Gusman, Jace Anthony Vandenborre, Charlie Rose O'Brien, Sawyer Reign O'Brien, and Eden Flora O'Brien.

She is further survived by her dearest friends Kelly Gates, Cynthia Contreras, Sena Fletcher, and Jan Morgan, whose companionship and support meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Renee Lynn Turner, and her father Dudley Anthony Vandenborre.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside committal service on Saturday, October 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, LA.
