Dolores and her husband Michael moved to Slidell in 1967 when he was transferred by his company to work at the NASA building on Gause Blvd.  Dolores Worked at Bernard Lumber Company, Noland construction Company, and Novell Cabinet makers company before being recruited by St. Tammany Builders Association, where she worked as CEO for 18 years before retiring.  Dolores loved life and enjoyed working. She worked for 64 years, starting at age 14 years old and retiring at the age of 78. Dolores and Mike were extremely active in square dancing with the Tammany Twirlers for almost 20 years.  They made many lifelong friends while dancing and traveled all over the country including Hawaii and even to Europe.

Dolores was 94 years old and only 16 days away from her 95th birthday when she passed away from Alzheimer's disease.  There will be a Memorial Service at Honaker Funeral Home at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 6th, 2024. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. The reason for the long delay between her death and a memorial service is that her daughter-in-law in Missouri was sick with Covid and could not travel.
