It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dominick Albert Nuccio Jr, lovingly known as Nick, Dom, or Dominick on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in Slidell, Louisiana, at the age of 76.

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, he was a longtime resident of the Ninth Ward, then New Orleans East, before relocating to Slidell. For the last seventeen months, he was devotedly cared for by his loving wife of 47 years, Joan M. Nuccio, whose faithfulness and unwavering love strengthened their bond through more than a half century of partnership and commitment. He was a cherished husband, father, and friend.

Nick loved all water sports, boating, fishing, music (especially blues, rock n roll, country, and New Orleans sounds), and was a good dancer. He was a diehard Saint's fan and NASCAR supporter. He had a special love for animals and found great comfort and inspiration from his dogs Lizzie and Bella.

He served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971, including a year in Vietnam, and received an honorable discharge. In 1979 he married Joan. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 130 for over 50 years. He also owned and operated his electrical contracting business All Metro Electric. He enjoyed participating in two Mardi Gras organizations, including the Krewe of Bilge and Poor man's yacht club.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dominick Albert Nuccio; and mother Mabel Nuccio.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joan M. Nuccio; stepson, Gene LeBouef Jr.; daughter, Jessica Fazzio (Charles); son, Jeffrey Nuccio; granddaughter, Sophia Fazzio; grandson, Charlie Fazzio; four loving sisters, Rosalind Munster, Marilyn Bowers (Jimmy), Mary Nuccio, Charlene Massey (Peter); and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, LA 70460, on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Catholic Mass at 12:00 P.M.

Burial will follow at 1:30 P.M. at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the 110 Brotherhood Club 22W 144 Busch Rd. Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 or to a veteran's organization (such as the Wounded Warrior Project or local VA support) or an animal welfare charity in his memory, reflecting his love for service and animals.
