Donald Joseph Garnett, age 76, departed this life on Monday, May 9, 2022, and entered into eternal rest.

Mr. Garnett was the son of the late Joseph Garnett and Lucille Faciane Garnett and was born on September 24, 1948. He attended Orleans Parish Public Schools and was later drafted into the United States Army. After serving in the army he joined the International Brotherhood of Electricians Local 130 where he worked as an electrician. He also owned and operated D'Garnett Electric before returning to local 130.

He was united in holy matrimony to Geraldine Williams Garnett. This union was blessed with two children. His beloved and loving wife proceeded him in death in 1986 and his devoted and dedicated daughter Nicole Garnett proceeded him in death on August 8, 2013. He was also proceeded in death by his sister Patricia Garnett Eddington and brothers Larry Garnett, Bradley Garnett, Joseph Garnett Jr. and Jeffery Garnett.

Mr. Garnett will live forever in the hearts of his loyal son Donald Isaiah Garnett of Frisco, Texas, grandsons Marquise, Skyler and Connor also of Frisco, Texas. His attentive sisters Glenda Garnett and Lucille Wiggins (Chad Wiggins), his dedicated brothers Matthew Garnett, Kenneth Garnett, and Gregory Garnett. He is also survived by a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME,

1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11:00 A.M.

Interment will follow at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation on Friday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.
