Donnis "Faye" Thornhill Brooks, a native of Columbia (Foxworth), Mississippi and a longtime resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at the age of 92.

Faye was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Brooks; her son, Paul Brooks; her grandson, Jason Brooks; her brother Johnny Thornhill; and her twin sister, Dorothy Holmes. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Pat & Audina Thornhill.

She is survived by her loving children: Diane Oprea (Bob), Judy O'Brien (Frank), and Carol Hoffritz (Mike), and daughter-in-law Denice Brooks. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Michael Carney (Lisa), Chasity Brooks (Berta), Ashley Fleming, Brittany Mancuso (Jeremy), Derek Hoffritz (Allison), Lauren Craft (Curt), Tyler Hoffritz (Morgan), Jessica Durst (Charles), Alexis Brooks (Arsen) along with a host of great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Her siblings Dutha Lee Maklary and Joyce Mccory.

Faye dedicated her life to her family, her faith, and her community. A devoted member of First Assembly of God Church, she had a deep love for the Lord and never missed an opportunity to share her faith with others. She truly never met a stranger and touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness and unwavering spirit.

She was a proud and hardworking woman who built a career as a beautician and co-owner of Faye's Beauty Salon. She took great pride in her work and the relationships she formed with her clients over the years. Her strong work ethic was evident as she continued working until the remarkable age of 88.

Faye will be remembered for her warmth, her faith, her strength, and her unconditional love for her family. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 12:30 P.M.
