Dorothy Anna
Richards Lemonier
Nov 26, 1930 — Dec 17, 2023
Slidell
Dorothy "Dolly" Anna Richards Lemonier, beloved mother and devoted wife, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Sunday, December 17, 2023, in Slidell, Louisiana.
Dolly will be remembered for having a bright and happy smile to match her big, beautiful heart. She was always ready to help others with an encouraging word. Dolly was a force of nature when it came to motherhood, spending much of her life nurturing little ones, starting with her own six children and eventually turning her attention to 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her willingness to be silly and genuinely engage in playtime set a sterling example that her children delighted in and extended to their own families and beyond. She also found time to indulge an artistic side, whether it was drawing and coloring with her young children and grandchildren, or working as a cake decorator out of her Metairie home, creating truly beautiful wedding cakes and her signature doll cakes.
She was no doubt welcomed into God's heavenly kingdom by her loving husband, Harrell, who passed away in 2007.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Susan), David (Beth), Wayne (Melanie), Marie (Greg), Scott (Alicia) and Keith (Maria); a brother, Ralph Richards Jr (Clara); and numerous grandchildren, Dana Lemonier, Caroline Lemonier, Edward Lemonier (Alli), Colette Lemonier, Courtney Lemonier, Bruce Snow (Erin), Monique, Luke Lemonier, Lauren Lemonier, Connor Dunkling, Michael Lemonier (Jocelyn), Paul Lemonier, Andrew Lemonier, Alex Lemonier, Aydan Lemonier, Aubrey Lemonier, Daniel Lemonier, Gabrielle Lemonier and Matthew Lemonier.
The family is overwhelmingly grateful to Keith and Maria and their family, who welcomed Dolly into their home for the last decade of her life, giving her boundless care, love and affection that surely made Harrell smile with approval.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 9:30a.m. until 11 a.m., at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd in Slidell.
