Obituary

Douglas "Doug" Aldridge, 62, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Doug was born on August 23, 1963, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Billie Jean and William Aldridge Jr.  He was raised in Slidell and went to work overseas at various maritime positions within the oil and gas industry after graduating from high school.  Doug later returned to Slidell and met the love of his life Sharon, "the girl next door", whom he married in 2009.

Doug was an employee of The Austin Company working at the PBF Chalmette Refinery and will be missed by his co-workers.  Outside of work Doug's favorite pastimes included going to eat Tex-Mex and drink Margaritas while watching his favorite "Elvis" impersonator perform.  He was an avid dog walker, making friends with all his neighbors both human and canine and could be found most evenings walking his beloved, Jazzy, with a pocket of dog bones for the neighborhood pups.

Doug was a soft-spoken, tender-hearted man who loved unconditionally and would do anything to help anyone.  He was loved by so many and will be missed dearly.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents William and Billie Jean, two sisters, Sandra and Carol.

He is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Sharon Aldridge; children, Pamella Deason (David), Douglas Lee Aldridge, Shelli Oulliber, Lori Dollison; eight  grandchildren, Abby Deason, Gabby Deason, Tabby Deason, Braxton Deason, Tyler Oulliber, Emily Freeman, Courtney Walgamotte, and Katherine Walgamotte;  three siblings, David Aldridge, Patricia Healy, and Janet Garrity; four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and of course his best friend, Jazzy Boy.
