Elbert "Al" G. Sandoz III, 81, of Lacombe, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Lacombe. Al was born June 19, 1942, in Tampa, Florida, to Elbert and Helen Sandoz Jr.

After growing up in a military family, he settled with his family in Slidell in 1962. Al was a commercial meat salesman who supplied numerous restaurants in the New Orleans area and surrounding states.

In 2004 he married Kathleen "Kathy" Polit in Slidell.

Al was preceded in death by two daughters, Eden A. Sandoz, Valerie T. Sandoz: two sisters, Carol Womer, and Virginia Kay Sandoz.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Polit-Sandoz; and a daughter, Beth Sandoz; three grandchildren, Lela Papania, Liam Britt, and Alea Britt.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Crossgates Blvd, Slidell LA 70461 on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Friends may visit at the church on Wednesday beginning at 10:00am.

The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00am.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery at a later date.
