Obituary

Eneida Elaine Allison, 63, passed away in Slidell, Louisiana, after a long battle with cancer, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Born in a close-knit and loving Puerto Rican family, Eneida lived a life defined by creativity, curiosity, determination, and a fierce independent spirit. She was proud of her God, her heritage, her country, and her family. She had a sharp mind and a strong will, and although she was not one to back down from an argument, she was just as quick to offer a helping hand.

Eneida built a distinguished career in geographic information systems and mapping, including years of work for the federal government on sensitive mapping projects and 911 addressing. Most recently, she worked in the City of New Orleans’ addressing and zoning department. She took immense pride in her education, professional accomplishments, and the expertise she brought to her work.

Eneida was fiercely independent yet deeply devoted to the people she loved. She was able to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger, yet equally content to retreat into her own world. She was a rule follower, yet also endlessly creative. An artist at heart, Eneida had an extraordinary eye for finding beauty and interest in ordinary things. She brought New Orleans flavor into her cooking and its spirit of celebration into her everyday life. She loved bringing people together, finding reasons to laugh, and turning even the simplest outings into lasting memories. Through all of life’s joys and challenges, her Catholic faith remained a source of strength and a guiding presence in her life.

Above all, Eneida loved her family with her whole heart. Their happiness was her happiness, and she took immense pride in the people they were and the lives they were building. She had a special place in her heart for her granddaughter, Tessa, who brought her immeasurable joy. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved parents, Harry and Helga, and is survived by her siblings, Thomas (Ronni) and Harry (Michele); her daughter, Allie (Alexander); her granddaughter, Tessa; and her nieces and nephews, Thomas (Kelly Ann), Michael (Malena), Sara, Vera, Leo, Darla, Luke, Gwendolyn, and Tobin. She also leaves behind many friends who will join her family in keeping her legacy alive.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 13, 2026, at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, in Slidell, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 12:00 p.m.
