Fergust Charles Ledet III, age 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 01, 2022, at his home in Diamondhead, Mississippi.

Born on May 1, 1948, Charles was raised in Bogalusa, Louisiana, graduating from Bogalusa High School, Pearl River Junior College, and Southeastern Louisiana University, where he earned his degrees in music and education, two of his passions.  After graduation, Charles served as a teacher and the band director at Delta Heritage Academy in Buras, whose music program he was instrumental in developing.  In addition to studying and teaching music, Charles started a dance band, in which he played the trumpet, and owned two music entertainment businesses.

Charles also served as band director at Franklinton High in Franklinton before transitioning to a successful career in restaurant food sales, where he got to explore another passion of his -- food.  It was this professional move that brought him to Slidell, Louisiana, where he resided for a large part of his life.  Charles loved the people he met while working in sales and sales management, and he especially loved to talk to restaurant clients and learn about food.  Charles loved to cook and did so well and often, skills honed from countless kitchen conversations along his French Quarter sales routes coupled with the roots of his Cajun heritage.

The boom of the casino industry in Mississippi and Louisiana brought Charles his next career pivot to casino floor games and games supervision, but it was the budding internet technology field that would foster Charles's next passion project.  Apparent in early childhood, Charles was fascinated with technology; he was often caught disassembling his parents' home appliances just to learn how they worked.  Charles applied his curiosity and ingenuity to the world of web design and online business management, creating and running his successful business iNET image, Inc. with his wife Beverly until his death.  Always learning, Charles's boldness to follow his heart and his genuine love, care, and respect for those around him afforded him lifelong success.

Charles is preceded in death by an infant son, his parents Fergust Charles "FC" Ledet II and Mable Boyd Ledet, and a nephew Jason Welford Duff.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Beverly Mcintosh Ledet of Diamondhead (formerly of Slidell), daughter Sheri Ledet Marks and husband Rob of Slidell, son Matthew Charles Ledet of Slidell, granddaughters Caroline Ledet Marks and Isabelle Goforth, grandson Brennan Ledet Marks, sister Teri Ledet Duff and husband Don of Baton Rouge, niece Stacy Duff and nephew Chris Duff, grandnephew Carter Duff and grandniece Olivia Duff, as well as many cousins, in-law family, and friends from many stages of his life.

A cherished brother, beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, Charles will be missed for his ongoing love and support.  Paw Paw will be missed for the best homemade ice cream and serious Monopoly skills.  Precious Uncle Charles will always be remembered at all of our family gatherings, especially the holidays.

All who knew and loved Charles will miss his sharp wit and loving soul.  The world has lost a truly great man.
