Obituary

Frank Matthew Smith Jr. was born April 3rd, 1961, in New Orleans, LA and passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, at his home in Slidell, Louisiana.

Frank, affectionately known to many as "Frankie", left this world as he lived in it – on his own terms surrounded by love. Frankie lived a vibrant life full of laughter, friendship, and unforgettable moments.

He had a fondness for the simple joys; powdered jelly donuts, time spent outdoors, the excitement of a casino, his sports memorabilia and the comfort of good company. His love for horses was matched only by his dedication to his work and his joy in spending time with friends and family.

Frankie had a gift for making those around him feel special. His niece Sharon fondly remembers the nickname he always called her: "Little Karen", a small but meaningful reminder of his unique sense of humor and affection.

He often said, "this isn't goodbye, this is a see ya later", a phrase that perfectly captures his warm, enduring spirit.

Frankie is preceded in death by his father, Frank Matthew Smith Sr., his mother, Roberta Childress Smith, and his sister, Sharon Smith. He is survived by his siblings; brothers, Russell Smith (best friend), Donald Smith (Sabrina), Duane Smith, and sisters, Karen Acosta (Eric), Nancy Penton (John), Catherine Ross and his godson Austin Mooney. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who cherished him deeply.

Honoring him as pallbearers will be his nephews; Jacob Kreamer, Brett Kreamer, Joshua Kreamer, Brennan Kreamer, Lucas Smith, and godson Austin Mooney.

Frankie will be remembered for his humor, his heart, and the deep connections he built with everyone lucky enough to know him.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Graveside Service at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST, Slidell, LA on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 12:00 P.M.
