Frederick J. Bonnicksen Sr., age 83, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Slidell.

Fred was born May 29, 1942, in Neptune, New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyden and Helene Bonnicksen; a son, Steven Bonnicksen; sisters, Patricia Bonnicksen Burnett and Judith Bonnicksen Lambert.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Joel Beals Bonnicksen; a son, Frederick "Rick" J. Bonnicksen Jr.; step daughter, Danielle Rodriguez Rowbatham; seven grandchildren, Cody Beaudette, Ashley Bonnicksen Williams, Jordyn Rolston, Alissa Bonnicksen, Dakota Beals, Kohen Rowbatham, Payton Rowbatham; thirteen great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

His memory will always be treasured and he will be greatly missed by all.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell LA 70458, on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00am.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.
