George Michael Frichter, III, 86, of Pearl River, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.

George was born on August 9, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana. George is preceded in death by his father, George Michael Frichter, Jr.; his mother, Bernice Silva Frichter; his siblings Arnold Frichter, Jimmy Frichter, and Carol Frichter.

George leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Georgette Frichter; his three children, George (Kim) Frichter IV, Julie Frichter, and Eric (Carol) Frichter; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and more to come; and his brother, Carl Frichter.

George, affectionately nicknamed Grumpy by friends and family, will be missed by many. Despite being a quiet person, George had a strong personality. As a young man, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. George then went on to become a respected businessman and entrepreneur whose retail stores made an impact along the Gulf Coast. As a distinguished community member, George was also known for his generosity to numerous charities, especially St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, and for having been active in his faith. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and family man. But above everything else, George lived his life for his family and will be lovingly remembered by all those who knew him.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 11:00 A.M.

A private Interment will take place in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

Visitation on Wednesday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.
