Georgia Elizabeth Sanders, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024, at Brookdale Assisted Living Center in Mandeville LA.
She was born on July 14,1933 in Holmwood, Louisiana, to Fred Rudolph and Sue Hackett Sanders. Although raised being poor, Georgia graduated from LSU school of nursing with a BSN degree. After devoting her life to nursing for 25 years, she received her master's degree in Math from USM. She taught Math at Delgado Community College for the next 25 years until her retirement only about 5 years ago. She was not only a great teacher but a great tutor as well.
Although she had no children of her own, Georgia dearly loved her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was a very caring and generous woman. She is survived by her nephews James Morgan, Brent Morgan (Candy), Mark Morgan (Helen Gaines). Nieces Linda Morgan and Diane Morgan. She is also survived by great nephews Lewis Charles Michel III, Matthew Morgan (Sarah), Jacob Morgan; great nieces, Madeleine Morgan, Brecan Morgan, and Hailey Morgan; great-great nieces, Bria Morgan, and Olivia Michel; her great-great nephew, Brayden Morgan; and her step great niece, Trudy Hutchinson Stewart (Scott).
Georgia is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Sue Sanders, sister and brother-in-law Drs Ouita and James Morgan.
Helen provided much love and care along with transportation to Georgia during the last years of her life. She did this willingly and totally out of the goodness of her heart. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Brookdale for all her care and support.
A Graveside Service will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST, Slidell, LA on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 11:00 A.M
