Gerald J. DeClouet Sr., 88, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Slidell.

Gerald was born October 1, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He retired as an MSG after serving twenty-six years with the U.S. Army.  In 1963 he married Dorothy Johnson in New Orleans. They were married for 52 years. After Hurricane Katrina the family moved to Slidell.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy J. DeClouet; a daughter, Sonja DeClouet; and sister, Geraldine Trask.

He is survived by four children, Renate DeClouet, Dr. Aleta DeClouet-O'Neal, Gerald DeClouet Jr., Yohanna DeClouet-Baptiste; ten grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 1222 N. Dorgenois St. New Orleans LA 70119.

The visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by the funeral mass at 11:00am.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell, Louisiana.
