When a matriarch dies, what is her family to do?  Grieve?  Celebrate a life well lived?  Somehow, we move on and live through life's adventures the way that she would want us to.  Geraldine "Gerry" Winsky Harrington was the foundation of our family, so on March 9, 2022, when she passed, we knew we would have to cement it back together.  As anyone who met her would tell you, she was, in a word, radiant.  She was honest, reliable, and positive, similar to the sun.  The stories and adventures of her life will be carried within the numerous people she loved and imparted her wisdom.  During her long life on this Earth, Gerry traveled the world and shook it to its core.  You could say she left life the way she lived it—exhausted, but peaceful.  She leaves her physical mark on this world with her daughters, Kimberlie Harrington Perez and Tina Harrington, her son-in-law, Mark Perez, grandchildren Sam Perez (Farah Salameh), Brandon Perez, Steven Perez, Vesper Harrington (Rowan Harrington), James Roberts, Mandrake Derrick and countless loved ones she took in as family over the years.

Please join us in celebrating Gerry at Honaker Funeral Home Friday, March 18.  Visitation will begin at noon followed by a funeral service at 2 pm.  You are encouraged to wear bright cheery clothing as Gerry did not want a somber remembrance.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers you consider donating to the Ukrainian relief efforts (flexport.org), something that Gerry was very concerned with given the current events happening.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell, LA 70460 on Friday, March 18, 2022.

Friends may visit at the funeral home that day, beginning at 12:00noon.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
