It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gisele Legendre Ketchum, of Slidell, Louisiana, on May 21, 2026, at the age of 68.

Born on October 11, 1957, to Roy and Angelina (Breaux) Legendre of Westwego, Louisiana, Gisele was the 2nd of 5 children in the family.

Gisele met the love of her life and beloved husband, Ronald Ketchum in 1976 and they were married just a couple months later. On June 25th, 2026, they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Together, they had one child Stacey Ketchum McEvoy (John) who blessed with them with four grandchildren Cameron, Chloe, Greyson, and Marlee. She is also survived by her sister, Dawn Legendre Gautro.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy & Angelina Legendre, her siblings Aunda, Perry, and Lisa, and her granddaughter Chloe.

Gisele spent 33 years with the Jefferson Parish School System in the human resources department. This was where Gisele was blessed to have met so many wonderful friends and some of her chosen family (Sally, Patti, Debbie, and Judy).

In her down time, Gisele loved going to the casino, listening to live bands, dancing, and traveling with friends! Most of all, Gisele loved her time with her beloved husband Ronald. Even as Alzheimer's stole her memories and life slowly, their love grew exponentially. The unconditional love, grace and patience that was shown in her last years was truly amazing to see. We should all be blessed enough to experience just a fraction of this kind of love in our lifetime.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 12:00 P.M.
