Gladys Melvin Harrison, 86, of Pearl River, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Gladys was born September 3, 1936, in McNeil, Mississippi, to John and Bertha Wilkins. For many years she resided in New Orleans, LA with her first husband, Horace and their three children.  Sometime after Horace's death in the late 1980's, Gladys moved to Chalmette with her 2 ^nd husband, Charles Harrison.  After Hurricane Katrina, Charles and Gladys moved to Pearl River, Louisiana, where she resided until her passing.

Gladys was preceded in death by her first husband, Horace Melvin; brothers, James Wilkins, John Wilkins Jr; and a sister, Doris Easley.

She is survived by her second husband, Charles Harrison; three sons, John "Douglas" Melvin (Blanche), Kenneth Melvin (Connie), Jeffery Melvin (Kim), step-sons Michael Harrison and Wayne Harrison; her grandchildren Craig, Rodney, Kenny Jr., Sidney, Matthew, and Andrew, as well as many great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
