Obituary

Henry J. Cruppi Jr. ~ Our forever Guardian Angel

Henry J. Cruppi Jr. entered into eternal rest August 11th, 2026, at the age of 77, surrounded by his family at home.

Henry was born in New Orleans where he attended St Theresa of Little Flower school, Beauregard Jr High, Warren Easton High and Southeastern University. He remained a lifelong resident of the New Orleans metropolitan area where he began his career working for the Times Picayune and as a barrel seamer with Rheem Manufacturing. He went on to become a professional photographer while running several camera shops and printing houses. For the last 20 years he worked for Lowe's Home Improvement in the plumbing department.

Henry was a kind, sweet, and giving man who truly loved God, and attended many Catholic Churches in the New Orleans area.  He will always be remembered for his humor, easy-going nature, love of Mardi Gras, Halloween and all things New Orleans. He had a smile that could light up a room, and you couldn't help but smile back. He rarely met an animal that he didn't love or care for especially his dog Callie.

He was a proud Warren Easton Eagle, regularly attending the monthly alumni luncheon. Henry loved getting together to catch up, while laughing and enjoyed telling stories of years past.

He is survived by his two sons, Christian J. (Katie Bohrer) Cruppi, Corey R. (Micky) Cruppi, as well as a host of many beloved family and friends.  Henry had a deep love and appreciation for his daughter-in-law, Micky, naming her "the favorite". In addition, his longtime partner Stephanie McCardle Gremillion and their beloved German shepherd, Callie. He also leaves behind many "adopted" kids that he opened his home to such as Chris Mourain and Ryan Cadow.

He is preceded in life by his parents Henry J. Cruppi, Sr., Anna Jane Raby Cruppi and his granddaughter Kenedy Anna Cruppi along with a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

"He was the greatest man I've ever known which made me the man I am today." -Corey Cruppi

A celebration of life will be held in Henry's honor on August 29th, 2026.
