Herman Hilton Koch, 86, a native of New Orleans, longtime resident of Chalmette, former resident of Picayune, and a resident of Slidell since 2005, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, in Slidell.

Herman was born November 4, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Samuel Hilton Koch and Arthemise "Mim" Schmaltz Koch.  In 1961 he married Aida Jacqueline Ochoa in Mexico City.  The couple resided in New Orleans until 1972, when they moved to Chalmette.

Mr. Koch was a U.S. Army veteran, and a longtime employee of Domino Sugar.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Chalmette.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Aida Koch.

He is survived by three children, Sammy Koch, Jacqueline Morel, Stephen Koch; six grandchildren, Alexandra Armand, Victoria Morel, Haley Koch, Hayden Koch, Hannah Koch, Hadley Koch; two great-grandchildren, Gemma Armand, Carter Beaudoin; brother, Howard J. Koch; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell LA, on Friday, July 12, 2024.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00am.

Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery #3 in New Orleans.
