Obituary

Howard Kelly Flood, of Lacombe, LA passed away on July 28, 2026.

Mr. Flood is survived by his daughters; Kuira Flood (John) and Kayla Flood (Steven) his grandchildren; Aydan Dixon and Makenna Flood and his great granddaughter; Harper Grace, his sister; Kimberly Beach (Bobby) and many nieces and nephews who cared and loved him dearly.

Howard was 66 years old when he passed away.

Howard was born in Colorado on April 9, 1960. He is preceded in death by his parents Juanita Pryor and Dale Flood.

He moved to Louisiana in 1973 and lived in Lacombe for 53 years until his death. He was a mechanic for many years in Slidell but retired in 2016.

Howard enjoyed working on cars, riding his bike, going to the waffle house, gardening and he loved spending time with Aydan, Makenna, and Harper. He made lifelong friends at Pep Boys, where he worked the majority of his career as a mechanic. He also made many friends in Lacombe and Slidell through work and church. He planted a garden for every season. He would ride his bike everyday around his neighborhood waving at everyone. Howard made sure to go get his daily waffle house at least 3 times a day. He also liked to sit home and watch ancient aliens and pawn stars. While he was watching his shows, he would eat a giant bowl of ice cream with Aydan and Makenna.

When Howard's parents were still alive, he would bring Kuira and Kayla to Colorado every year (sometimes twice a year). He took them to see Royal Gorge, Pikes Peak,

The Budweiser Brewery and the Budweiser Clydesdale as well as other iconic Colorado monuments. One year he took the girls the long way down route 66 to see various historical landmarks. He also took his girls to trips to Pensacola, Florida. We would be remised if we didn't mention his two pups. He loved his chihuahua Peanut and his dog

Janie girl. Peanut would not run around with him on his bike, but Janie would.

Howard was a hard worker and would help out anyone he could. He was an amazing father and an even better pawpaw. His grandchildren were his whole world. He will be missed by all who knew him.
