Obituary

Hugh William Johnson Sr., passed away peacefully on October 29, 2022, at his home after an extended illness.

He was born October 2, 1939, in Choctaw County, Alabama to William Allen and Mattie Mae (Griffith) Johnson.  After graduating high school, he went on to serve his country in the Air Force.  Upon his discharge, he joined Boeing working in the Apollo Program where he worked on the command module.  He went on to work as a service engineer for Eastman Kodak retiring after 25 years.  He was an avid fisherman and spent his later years enjoying the area bayous and tributaries with his beloved wife.  He was a member of Northside Baptist Church where he served many years as a deacon and bible study teacher.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Imogene "Jean" Johnson, his parents, and his sisters, Elsie Ruth Johnson and Anne Nioce Johnson.  He is survived by his children, son Hugh "Bill" Johnson, Jr., and daughter, Renee Johnson as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Graveside Service at Mount Moriah Cemetery,1164 Old Highway 15 South, Ovett, MS. on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10:00 A.M.
