It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Israel Joseph Landry, a resident of Slidell, Louisiana, who passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the age of 88, in Slidell.

Israel was born on August 16, 1938 in Thibodaux, Louisiana, to Tomas Landry and Abby Thibodaux Landry. Israel was a devoted family man who made his living as a carpenter. He retired from St. Tammany Parish School Board. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Israel is survived by wife of 65 years, Joyce Franzella Landry; and children, Debby Landry, Karen Dickerson, Michael Landry; and grandson, Gabriel Dickerson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas Landry and Abby Landry; siblings, Delta Mae Giangrosso, Herbert Landry, Edward Joseph Landry, and Russell Joseph Landry; and a son-in-law, George Dickerson.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 66192 St. Mary Drive, Pearl River, LA. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate a life well lived.

Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00am, followed by the Mass at 11:00am.
