Jacob Charles Walsdorf Jr., age 86, of Lacombe, LA. died on Saturday, May 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 19, 1939, in New Orleans, LA. to the late Jacob Charles Walsdorf, Sr. and Elise Lauff Walsdorf.

Beloved husband, of 67 years, to his adoring wife, Esther Carona Walsdorf. Loving father of 3 children Karen Hunter (Mark), Jacob Charles Walsdorf, III (Kristie), Kim Shockley (Ricky), 2 deceased children, at birth, Steven and Kathleen Walsdorf. Devoted grandfather of Jeffrey Hunter, Justin Hunter (Ashley), Lauren Hunter, Jacob "Jay" Charles Walsdorf, IV (Lisa), Adam Walsdorf, Samantha W. Smallets (Shawn), Chandler Shockley (Kaylie), Cameron Shockley, Callin-Grace "Callie" Latapie (Blake), Nathan and Rebecca Eckert. Proud great-grandfather of Jacob Charles "Charlie" Walsdorf, V, Harper Hunter, Sterling Shockley, John "Jay" Hunter, Charlotte Hunter, Mollie Shockley, Kaia and Silas Poole. Brother of Margaret Landry and deceased brother John L. Walsdorf. Loving uncle to multiple nieces and nephews and friend to many others.

Jacob "Jake" was a bank auditor for F.D.I.C.- R.T.C. and many other banks. He along with his wife Esther were proprietors of Crescent Oaks, hosting company picnics and weddings for over 20 years. Jake was a 3rd degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus with Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Lacombe.

Jake's love of music spanned a lifetime being a member of New Orleans and St. Tammany Jazz Clubs, as well as multiple other band clubs. He had a music room "house" to jam with all his buddies and teach others, loving every minute of it. His other hobbies included bowling and being a mustang car enthusiast. We all know you will be playing your music in heaven. In his final years, Jake's roles reversed to become the primary caregiver of his wife. "You can rest now Dad, we got this".

Relatives, family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME at 1751 GAUSE BLVD WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA. 70460, on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 12:30 P.M.

The family grants special thanks to all the staff at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Emergency, Acute Care, and Hospice Services. There are too many wonderful physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, and other ancillary staff to mention.

Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday after 10:30 A.M. until funeral time.
