James Alvin Graham, age 89, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, in Slidell.

James was blessed to have two birthdays.  He was born January 25th, 1935, in Bassfield, Mississippi; however, the small-town Mississippi doctor didn't get there to certify his birth until two days later.  From thereon out, he continued to do things his way.  Joining the Navy in his teens and retiring after 28 years as an E-9 Hull Technician Master Chief in 1978.  He "dropped anchor" in Slidell, Louisiana, where he joined Martin Marrietta and then retired again from Lockheed Martin in 2001.  He was a founding member of Thompson Road Baptist Church.  His faith was strong, and his family ties went deep, and his friends were many.

James is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara Griffis Graham; his son, Jim Graham, and daughter, Sandra Graham Tillman (Ken); and grandsons, Kyle Brandon Lovett and Connor Michael Tillman.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Bid Graham and Edgie Mixon Graham, brother Charles Edward Graham Sr. And grandson, Devon Reece Tillman.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell, LA, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.
