Janice Lucille Pfeffer (Mau) was born June 12, 1924 in Sturdevant, WI to Harley and Bertha Mau.  She passed away at home on July 17, 2022 at the age of 98.  Janice moved from South Milwaukee, WI to Nokomis, FL in 1959, where she lived until she moved to Slidell, LA in 2011.

In South Milwaukee, she was a secretary in the Purchasing Department of Bucyrus-Erie Company.  She worked as secretary/bookkeeper at Venice Junior High School, Venice, FL for 25 years.  She was past President of Sarasota County Educational Secretaries Association, member of Venice Nokomis United Methodist Church, Venice Nokomis United Methodist Women's Unit and Eva Groff Circle.  She volunteered for many years at the Venice Nokomis United Methodist Preschool.  Upon moving to Slidell, LA she became a member of First United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Edward Pfeffer.  She is survived by her son James (Ramona), grandchildren Matthew (Jae) Pfeffer and Amanda (Kent) Morgan, and great-grandchildren, Ella Pfeffer, Anna Morgan and Lily Morgan.

A memorial service will be held at Summerfield Senior Living Center, 4104 Dauphine St., Slidell, 70458, on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 10:00 am.
